Boost Wheat Production in Punjab
Special Package Introduced to Boost Wheat Production in Punjab per acre. On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government has introduced a special package to increase wheat production per acre.
A spokesperson for the Agriculture Department said here on Tuesday that under this package, 1000 laser land levelers will be given to farmers who own and cultivate wheat on 12.5 acres to 25 acres of land, while 1000 green tractors will be given free of cost to farmers cultivating wheat on more than 25 acres of land through transparent voting.

He said that the process of receiving applications was going on from November 25, 2024, while the last date for submitting applications is December 31. He added that farmers should contact the Agriculture Department (Extension) Wing about their cultivated land so that farmers can be registered for this program. For more information, farmers can contact the helpline 0800-17000 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Free Tractors & Laser Land Levelers for Farmers
According to the Agriculture Department spokesperson, farmers cultivating wheat on different land areas will receive specific benefits under this scheme:
- Farmers with 12.5 to 25 acres of land will be provided 1,000 laser land levelers to improve land preparation and irrigation efficiency.
- Farmers cultivating wheat on over 25 acres will receive 1,000 green tractors free of cost through a transparent lottery system.
The application process for this program began on November 25, 2024, and the last date for submission of applications is December 31, 2024. Farmers are encouraged to contact the Agriculture Department’s Extension Wing to register for this program. For further assistance, farmers can call the Agriculture Department helpline at 0800-17000, which operates from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, Muhammad Zulqarnain Langrial, highlighted the importance of the Rs 300 billion package during an agricultural awareness seminar held in Adamke Cheema village, Daska tehsil. He explained that this historic initiative aims to uplift farmers by providing modern machinery, tractors, and interest-free loans.
Key highlights of the initiative include:
- 9,500 farmers have already received a Rs 1 million subsidy per tractor under this scheme, and the delivery process is ongoing.
- Officials from the Agriculture Department are actively present in the field to guide and support farmers.
- Special incentives, like free tractors and laser land levelers, have been introduced to encourage large-scale wheat cultivation and maximize productivity.
Assistant Commissioner Daska Maham Mushtaq, Agriculture Department officials, and local farmers attended the seminar in large numbers, reflecting the enthusiasm and optimism surrounding this initiative.

In a separate event, the Deputy Commissioner organized a tea party in honor of the students of Government Girls Islamia High School, Urdu Bazaar Sialkot. Certificates of appreciation were awarded, and the event was attended by the CEO Education and the school principal.
