    Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the first Chief Minister Dialysis Program card in the country’s history, under which the funds for the treatment of kidney patients have been increased up to 1 million rupees. Of this, Rs 8.5 lakh has been earmarked for dialysis and Rs 1.5 lakh for tests and medicines. The Chief Minister has directed to provision of free medicines and test facilities to all the patients so that their treatment of the patients is not affected in any case. Additionally, orders have been issued to increase the number of dialysis units in Punjab and ensure strict implementation of SOPs in all centers.

    The Punjab Healthcare Commission has ordered to strictly monitor the dialysis centers across the province so that quality and safe facilities are provided to the patients. Expressing outrage over the AIDS cases in Multan, the Chief Minister sought a report within 24 hours and said that lack of funds would not hinder treatment. Patients from other provinces are also benefiting from this program while medicines are being supplied from Punjab to Sindh and Balochistan.
