While attending the Honhar Scholarship ceremony at FAST National University of Computer and Engineering Sciences, one of Islamabad’s esteemed educational institutions, the Madam Chief Minister highlighted the success of the scholarship program. She shared that students from 65 universities, 12 medical and dental colleges, and 359 colleges in Punjab are currently benefiting from the Chief Minister Honhar Scholarships. She further elaborated that the scholarship program spans across 68 different subjects and disciplines, enabling students to cover their educational expenses. The Chief Minister also emphasized that the program is available to students who are under the age of 22 and have a domicile of Punjab, making it an inclusive initiative aimed at supporting young talent across the province.
Commitment to Ensure Scholarship Program Through Online Web Portal
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed the commitment to transparency in the scholarship program, saying, All applications were submitted and processed through an online portal to ensure complete transparency. She further explained that, along with committees in each educational institution, the vetting process was also managed by a provincial-level committee.The entire process was overseen by a steering committee headed by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, she added. This multifaceted oversight ensured that the selection process remained fair and accountable at every stage.

Eligibility Criteria
- This scheme is for students of Punjab.
- Students studying in government, private and below institutions are eligible for this scheme.
- Students have scored more than 70 percent marks in their exams.
- Students whose parents have a monthly income of less than Rs 3 lakh.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Distributed Scholarships Among the Students During the Ceremony.
Madam Chief Minister emphasized, “The inaugural ceremony of the Honahar Scholarship Program was held at the University of Punjab, where scholarships were granted to 2,473 students. The second ceremony, which took place at FAST University in Islamabad, will see scholarships awarded to a total of 2,570 students from the Rawalpindi Division.” She further stated, “A total of 1,886 students from UET Lahore received scholarships under the Honor Scholarship Program.”She elaborated that the distribution of scholarships is as follows: “Of the total scholarships, 1,660 are allocated for students of public sector universities, while 637 scholarships are reserved for students of federal universities. These scholarships will also be distributed among students of private sector universities.”
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting education and ensuring that talented students from various sectors have access to opportunities for higher learning.
