Green Tractors Program
A grand ceremony was held in Multan under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Green Tractors Program, in which the keys of tractors were distributed among successful farmers. Former MPA Rana Ijaz Ahmed Noon, while speaking on the occasion, said that this program is a revolutionary step for the development of agriculture. He said that the government has allocated a huge amount of Rs 30 billion for this project and a subsidy of Rs 1 million has been provided on each tractor, which is a great support to the farmers. He emphasized that the lottery of tractors has been done with complete transparency, so that every eligible farmer gets the benefit of this facility.
Deputy Commissioner Multan Muhammad Ali Bukhari, while participating in the ceremony, said that as per the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister, all the stages of this program are being completed under a modern mechanized system. He said that 267 green tractors are being provided to successful farmers in Multan, which will play an important role in promoting mechanization in the agriculture sector. Director Agriculture Extension Shahzad Sabir further said that the Punjab Chief Minister has launched a multi-billion rupee project to increase wheat production and encourage farmers, which also includes production competitions.
It was informed that the winning farmers at the provincial level will be given tractors while cash prizes will be given at the district level. The ceremony was attended by a large number of farmers, including Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Azwar Raza Gilani, who see this project as an important step towards the development of agriculture and the prosperity of farmers. This program will not only provide financial assistance to farmers but will also play an important role in the promotion of modern agriculture.
