KP Government Rolls Out Rs. 370 Million Aid

Cheques of financial assistance were distributed among the special needs people at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, in which government ministers, members of the assembly and senior officials of the social welfare department also participated.
Under this financial assistance program, 37,000 special needs people are being provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each. This amount will help in meeting the needs of the special needs people as well as creating better opportunities for them. In his address, the Chief Minister said that special needs people have very unique abilities and they should be provided opportunities to showcase their abilities. He further said that it is the responsibility of the state to patronize and provide support to the weaker sections of the society. The provincial government will ensure that the helpless are provided with full support.
Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah and other speakers also addressed the event and appreciated the government’s initiative. The aim of this program is not only to provide financial assistance to special individuals but also to provide them with opportunities to make them a useful part of the society, so that they can contribute to the development of Pakistan with their talents.
