    Applications for subsidized Punjab CM Solarization Program to farmers have begun. Under the Punjab Chief Minister Solarization Program for Agricultural Tube Wells, applications for subsidized solar power to farmers have begun. In this regard, a desk has been set up in the Assistant Director Agriculture Water Management Shorkot office. An app is available for applications in computerized villages, while forms can be obtained from the office for manual villages.

    In this regard, Agriculture Management Officer Fayyaz Ahmed says that they are going to different areas and providing awareness and forms. A subsidy of Rs. 5 lakh will be given for 10 kW, Rs. 750 thousand for 15 kW, and Rs. 1 million for 20 kW. The last date for submitting applications is December 31.

    Eligibility Criteria for Farmers

    Farmers who wish to benefit from the solarization of electric and diesel tube wells must meet specific eligibility criteria. Farmers must meet the following conditions to qualify for the solarization of electric and diesel tube wells under the scheme:

    • The applicant must be a resident of Punjab.
    • The applicant must be at least 18 years old and possess a computerized ID card.
    • Only one farmer from a family can apply for a solar system.
    • The applicant must own agricultural land within the same district where they are submitting their application.
    • Proof of individual ownership of the agricultural land is required.
    • For electric tube wells, the applicant must be the owner of the electric tube well. To verify this, the last paid electricity bill for the tubewell connection must be submitted.
    • Farmers who have defaulted on loans from any bank or financial institution are not eligible for this program.
    • If the applicant owns an electric tube well, it must have a three-phase electricity connection.
    • The electricity connection for the tube well must have been installed on or before October 30, 2024.

    Application Process

    Farmers can now submit their applications for subsidized solar power. To make the process convenient:

    • For Computerized Villages: Applications can be submitted via a dedicated app.
    • For Manual Villages: Application forms are available at the Assistant Director Agriculture Water Management Office in Shorkot.

    A help desk has been set up at the office to guide farmers and facilitate the application process.

    Complete Procedure for Online Registration in Punjab Solarization Program

    To register for the CM Punjab Solarization Program, farmers can use the special portal introduced by the Punjab government. First, visit the official website at https://cmstp.punjab.gov.pk/. Once the portal opens, the registration form will appear. Enter your ID card number and the mobile number registered in your name. Next, select the type of tube well installed (electric or diesel) and provide the capacity of the electric motor or diesel engine.

    Choose the solar system capacity you need and read the terms and conditions carefully. Tick the acknowledgment box to confirm your agreement. Then, enter the captcha code displayed on the screen and press the Apply for Solar Tube Wells button. Once you complete these steps, your registration will be successfully submitted. Remember, the last date to register is 31 December 2024.

    Subsidy Details

    • 10 kW Solar System: Subsidy of Rs. 500,000
